Successful Completion of Jabatan Kastam Diraja Malaysia Face Recognition Time Attendance System Project

A Face Recognition Time Attendance System was implemented for Jabatan Kastam Diraja Malaysia as part of the organisation’s attendance management requirements. The project involved the installation and commissioning of a biometric attendance system to support the recording and administration of staff attendance.

The implementation covered the installation of the face recognition attendance device, system configuration, power and network connection, user enrolment, and functional testing. The system was configured according to the site environment and the intended attendance process, with the device positioned at a suitable location for staff access and daily use.

Following the installation, staff information was registered into the system through the facial enrolment process. Individual facial profiles were captured and configured for identification through the attendance device. Testing was then carried out to verify the recognition process and ensure attendance transactions could be recorded correctly.

The attendance device was also connected to the relevant system environment for attendance data management. System communication and data transmission were checked during the testing stage to ensure recorded attendance information could be properly processed and accessed for administrative purposes.

The implementation was carried out with consideration for the existing site conditions and normal staff movement. Installation and configuration activities were coordinated to allow the attendance system to be introduced without unnecessarily affecting the department’s daily operations.

After the installation, enrolment, configuration, and testing stages were completed, the system was commissioned for daily attendance use. The completed setup provides the department with a centralised method of recording staff attendance through facial identification, while allowing attendance information to be managed through the corresponding system.

The project represents the implementation of a biometric attendance solution within a government administrative environment, supporting the department’s requirements for structured staff attendance recording and day-to-day attendance administration.
